Prego molly

Hi guys i have a prego molly and she is about to pop is it to late to put her in the breeder tank?

Its ultimately up to you, but here are the pros and cons and my personal way of doing things.

Pros:

Babies would have a greater chance of survival if they're born alive

Cons:

Female could get overly stressed from the move and abort part of all of the load of babies.

Personal way of doing things:


If we plan to isolate holding females we try to do it early in their pregnancy. We move some of our livebearers quite successfully and find it to be a helpful way to keep more babies per spawn.

Yeah, I agree with the Chief. I actually avoid moving my pregnant mollies altogether, and hope am around to catch the fry on time before the other fish eat them. There are a lot of hiding places like heavily planted areas, and floating plants, so most of the time I catch at least 10.
