Getting Ready for an Upgrade + pics of new fish :)

So, I mentioned a while back that I got some new fish for my SA tank, so I figured its about time I shared some pics. I'm sorry for the bad quality, but I had to take them on my phone.

I am upgrading to a 180 gallon tank in either November or December, so my entire SA stock will be transferred over from my 80 gallon. I just ordered my filter online today, so I am planning on running it on my current tank for a month or so until I get my new tank set up so that I don't have to worry about cycling. I ordered a Fluval FX5 (950 GPH), and will also be running my AC110 on the tank as well. I will keep this thread going as a journal of the upgrade for that tank. I have never set up a tank that size before, so it will be a huge learning experience for me.

Currently, this is my stock:
Oscar (Gulliver)
Severum (Zeplin)
Blue Acara
S. Jurupari
Heckli
Vieja Synspilum
Uaru
Chocolate Cichlid

*I may have to re-home a couple of these when they get full size, but I wanted to start out with an assortment and get a feel with who gets along wtih who and which fish I enjoy keeping the most.

I have also included a pic of my baby EBJD, who will not be going in this tank. He is currently in a 22 gallon grow out tank, and will be added to my CA tank once he gets big enough.

Awesome pics and tank MissMTS.
I am looking for some Uaru's a great fish.
And the Heckli looks awesome!!

Just some info for you if you are interested. Your S. Jurupari is not what it seems. There is only one true Jurupari and they can quickly be identified because they have no spots on the operculum (cheek gill area). Yours looks like Satanoperca Leucosticta (Guyana Jurupari is the common name, but like I said only one true Jurupari and this isn't it, lol) A great fish I currently have 6 wild ones I am growing out in hope of breeding. When it grows a bit more we will know for sure but that is what it looks like to me. Most people just call them Jurupari's. Good luck with all of them, they are all cool fish to keep.

Thanks Shawnie! I am loving Gulliver He is by far one of my favorites. I never thought I would see the day that I would get a fish that begs for food more than my bettas, but that day has come, lol I am really glad I was able to give him a home. He is 7 inches, and he had been in the Petsmart tanks since we was a 2 inch baby. Poor little guy was so happy to have some more space to swim around!

Thanks Brian I agree Uaru's are awesome fish. I was a little afraid that mine would get picked on, but he has a surprising amount of attitude. I ordered mine from Jeff Rapps (www.tangledupincichlids.com) if you are looking for a good breeder.

Thanks for the info on my Jurupari, or should I say Leucosticta, lol I had no idea that he was a different species, but he's a great fish, so it doesn't bother me. I'm glad that I have the correct identity now though, especially since LFS tend to mis-lable fish all the time.
