| Nice tank! Try anchoring your severum. That'll keep him from uprooting your plants! LOL! Just kidding! |

How about Geophagus Species? G. brasiliensis, G. steindacneri, etc! Will hold their own with Severum. Only problem, they can uproot plants more than Severum! |

| I figured I should update this thread since it has been a while. All of the fish are healthy and doing well (except for a small case of ICH which I believe is a product of stress from the recent move).
For some reason Zeplin has been on his best behavior since the move. He has gotten a bigger appetite and is accepting pellet food. I have even been able to move the Keyholes back into the tank with him. I also moved my blue acara and convict into the tank with him. Everyone has been getting along great! Here is a list of the current residents:
1 Severum
2 Keyholes
1 Blue Acara
1 Female Convict
1 Pleco
6 Tiger Barbs
4 Red Irian Rainbows
Here are some recent pics of the current residents: |

| Goodness gracious! A lot happened in my tank over the weekend. First, I wake up on Friday morning, and almost all of my fish are hiding, which is not normal. I looked, and my female convict, and my male blue acara had paired I did not expect that to happen. All of the other fish were scared out of their minds, so I rehomed the convict over the weekend to a guy with a 90 gallon tank. I was sad to give her up, but I'm glad that she got a good home. Well I get home from work on Saturday night, and Zeplin and Felix (who I found out is a girl BTW) have spawned on a piece of slate. It was pretty cool to watch. Well Sunday morning, I went to feed the fish, and as soon as Felix left the eggs to eat food, Zeplin immediately starts scarfing down the eggs. She tried to stop him and he beat her up pretty bad I think I am going to find her another home as well. The tank is just too small to house a breeding pair with any other fish. I have never really had any of my fish spawn before aside from my angels, so having two pairs spawn in the same tank within two days was absolutely bazaar. |

| That's so interesting. I never thought of cons pairing with acara before. Sorry you had to re-home her. They really are the rabbits of the fish world |

I guess since I (purposely) didn't provide her with a boy con to pair with, she decided to move on to the next best thing. The good thing is that I am very confident that she went to a good home and will be well taken care of. Quote:
