Never was there such a hero before, who could snooze through hellfire and locust swarms!

I suddenly fell in love with high contrast black and white...I guess it reminds me of the old days with actual black and white film.

That's really cute. I love black and white photos, they have such character.

haha, I could barely see through the viewfinder because the camera was so close to the ground and angled upward. I could just see that I had the cat in there...the rest was by chance!

They certainly do have character, I usually favor color though.

I used Adobe Lightroom to process it like monochrome B&W film -- the kind with silver emulsion -- not color B&W film (which is actually color film that prints the colors as gray.)

It's hard to explain the difference. Silver emulsion captures only light intensity.

color B&W captures intensity, but adjusts the intensity to match the human sensitivity to different colors. (more weight is given to green, for example).

haha, I'm just not a dog person...too needy.

I've got some more photos in the black and white vein.

1. Another photo of Mischief -- same processing

2. Vera Cat -- Processed in selenium to improve tone range. Black cats are really hard to photograph, they always look like silhouettes with eyes.

High Contrast and full saturation looks really cool. In the first picture the blur made the face a very good focal point.
