Brown Recluses in the garden? That seems rather unusual/unlikely if it really is a brown recluse. They're pretty shy and prefer dark crevices.

I used to see them alot in arizona. They say once they nest somewhere they will never leave.....so I guess you have to kill them...or just be really good at avoiding them.

Whoa BR in your garden? Kill it! Those guys are nasty and I don't mean in nasty looking. I saw a video of a man get bitten on his thigh and he ignored the pain for a few days. All of a sudden his leg turned from a tiny red circle around the wounded area into a medium plate size circle. Then the venom started to really effect his skin and he finally decided to have a doctor's appointment. The doctor had to remove the skin and he had this big chunk of meat missing from his thigh. :X

I killed it with a shovel! I've seen shows about them on TV as well. I know one of our members was bitten by one. The bite from one of these has life long side effects.
