Cute cats! Because of the guinea pig... and because having an outdoor cat is a no no due to a neighbor who traps cats... we can't have a cat right now. My daughter really wants one. She keeps telling me how she really LOVES the cat Mittens in the movie Bolt... and how she dreamt about having a cat who could talk.

Ah, CH, they are all SO cute. Is Essa still a baby?

Jenn, why can't a kitty and the piggy get along?

Thanks Sharkitty,
Yup Essa is just a kitten. I went out to pick up Licorich from the Humane Society to bring her home and foster her and sweet little Essa was next to her and reached out and grabbed my arm and wouldn't let go..I had to adopt her..lol..So she came from the Humane Society. She is just a doll.

It is a possibility... but we live in such a small house that they would be in really close quarters with no real way to keep them apart if the kitty we got fancied him as a snack rather than a friend.

Plus there isn't any place for a litter box in our house. Our bathroom is really small and that just leaves the kitchen living room or bedrooms...and I don't think I could stand that. In the past we just let the cats go out and didn't keep a litterbox... but like I said we have a neighbor that traps cats.

Such cute pets!
Kate, I love the pic of the raccoon peeking through the lattice.

My daughter had a guinea pig, we had a cat at the time and they got along great. Of course we always closely supervised when piggy had exercise time on the floor. The cat never laid a paw on the pig.
Then we got another cat......too much of a hunter to trust with the piggly. That cat got put in the bedroom when it was exercise time. All 3 are gone now.

The cat I have now (got off Craig's List) is a psycho, who when sees a cat outside hisses and growls and spits, not even a human is safe near her.

Aren't looks deceiving?

The ad said "She does fine with other cats and dogs"
Yeah....right...........

And the dogs, first our crazy insanely happy rescue westie Joey

Our collie who was horrifically abused as a puppy so I adopted him when I was working at the shelter because he was otherwise labelled unadoptable due to psychological damage, he is still a bit crazy and unpredictable at times but he is my baby, he's about 7 now.

This is our oldest dog, she's 15 and has cushing's disease and a brain tumour.
But she's still in great form so we are cherishing the short time we have left with her.

I could totally live without this cat. I keep trying to give her away but no one will let me. lol

I'd replace her with 2 sweet kittens. Who actually like us. lol
I've never had a baby kitty, always took in strays that were just under a year.
The plan was to get a baby and have 2 cats.....but.......I wouldn't trust Ellie with a kitten.

hercules does whatever he wants to poor sid..and she tolerates it!! but yes he does "preen" her cause we are always finding chunks of her black fir all around where they lay together ...ive caught him plucking her like a chicken alot LOL
lizzie is cool...her tail looks almost like her head without eyes...she was a rescue and she dropped her regular tail when a cat had a hold of it ....shes cool

Our family of critters

Here's our other critters. Kuta, is a Florida Softshell Turtle (aquatic), was rescued as a day-old hatchling on a lake shore near our house. Liberty Bell (Libby) and Cantilly Lace (Lacey), our two Maltese girls ages 8 and 9 years--Lacey was a rescue from a bad situation. Lizzie and Lucy the Papillon girls ages 1 and 2 years--both rescues (very sick babies needed lots of care, now very healthy). Oops, fish too big for aquarium had to let it go.

Amanda, do you really have 13 cats?

Sorry about your Hammie, Dojo, he looks like a sweetheart.

Everyone has such lovely critters! I didn't think all these people so concerned with fish could possible live without furry friends too.
