I like the way the foreground is so dark and mysterious. It directs your eyes out over the water. The composition makes your eyes travel the whole picture instead of stopping on the foreground.

Foreground and clouds do a good job of vertically framing the peninsula.

I really love the forest scape in the third one.

Hi Macroman...
I am partial to photo #3. the bushes in the forefront, the clouds in the back, the green hillsides.. and some of the city in between. the best of all things Ireland! If you are looking for the cityscape.. then photo #2 has my vote!
Ahhh... its been a long time since I was in Belfast! (aug. 92') I spent about a month in Northern Ireland traveling all around the coastline. It was a wonderful time and a great opportunity to meet so many families there. lol.. fish n chips.. out of the newspaper, out on the sidewalks! Taverns with music... mountain sides shrouded in mists... and green green rolling hills... deserted thatched roof buildings.. ohh I can go on and on.

appeal to some folk and how different people interpret pics in different ways.

Number 1 is my favorite. I think that the effect of the dark trees against the water is exquisite.

I'm finding it difficult to choose between #1 and #3. #1 is the dramatic shot, well framed and draws your eye in to many aspects. #3 is green, fluffy cloud ,relaxing. #2 is a city shot. Not much on those. Although would it be too much to do a montage. Ok maybe of two. #1 & #3. But if only one --#1. I think.

Picture 2 and 3 are nice! Picture 2 has view of the buildings and the lighthouse. Picture 3 has nice clouds!
