Thanks for the recommendation; I'll have to check it out, being the short I've read by him is one of my favourites.

Thank you!! The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World ("El Ahogado mas Hermoso del Mundo") was written in 1968 by Gabriel Garcia Marquez -- which, according to Wikidpedia, is the author of the story you mentioned as well (I'd never heard of it before!) You learn something new every day I guess.

Ok, sounds good. A lot of reef keepers are using them because they provide lots of light, are not as expensive as the metal halides and don't heat up the tank temp the way the metal halides can.

Heh, Sun Ce (the betta) seems to be happy, but he's not the only one receiving my attention. I've got a 90g with three glassfish, three black neons, three kuhli loaches, and a gold barb. A sorely overstocked tank with a small koi and a goldfish (they will be getting their own 200g soon), and a 35g with a molly and a shrimp colony.

woah, first I'd heard of the T5's being a fire hazard... I'll have to check into the setup I'm using (nova extreme). I wonder if it's the retrofit kits causing the probs? I could see that being a problem if they weren't using water proof end caps...
