hey, yesterday my fish laid eggs!! (BIG DAY) They r cleanly laid on the inner walls of a small flower pot.yeah its true that convicts get vry aggressive during this stage...
few questions fer which i need urgent reply...
    1) it has been like 24 hrs since my fish laid eggs....shall i do a partial water change?? i've read that it triggers the process......??

2)In india we dont get brine shrimp.so can i manage with dried blood worms(crushed/slightly powdered) fer my fry (if i have them)....??

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been absent for so long! I miss fishlore! I've been very busy with, well, life! I doubt my answers to your questions matter much now because it's been so long, but I'll answer than anyways.

@ yash: Even though I started breeding with Convict Cichlids in a 10g, and it can be done, I don't really suggest it. I got a 30g for this last Christmas, so I moved the oldest babies and the father into there. My mother died very unexpectedly for unknown reasons (I don't think it was water issues because the newborn fry would have felt it before her), so now I've stopped breeding them. It's a lot of work... but if you're dedicated enough, it can be very rewarding. It's just gotten to be to much for me... I've got a lot going on now with school and all.

I would start with a smaller parents, but not babies. Your size would be fine. I'm sure they've gotten bigger since you asked. Yeah, sorry about that.

@ reef dude: Right now, I've got my 46g community, 30 gallon Convict cichlid tank (includes oldest fry and now single father), 10g for the newborn Convict fry, and a 1 gallon in which my sis keeps her Beta... poor thing!

all my fish are fine. I did try to take the tank divider out of my 30 gal malawi cichlid tank though. That was a BAD idea. my poor acei nearly got killed by my lombardoi. my female auratus was fine though even with the big mean lombardoi. back in went the plastic sheild. my lombardoi is all sad now. he is still isolated frome the other two.(or one i guess since the acei is in the hospital tank to heal his fins) that was about 10 days ago, so I will be putting the acei back with the auratus soon. the poor acei had half of his tail gone and most of his pectoral fins gone along with a few scars on his body. he's better now though. THANK GOODNESS Are yours all good?

Yeah... It's a great place for me to share my jokes and riddles, and figure out other people's as well. It is amazing how many people actually replied. It was never intended as a riddle/joke trading center at all! Lol! Isn't it funny how some things work out?

My sister keeps her Beta in here. I wish I could put him in my 46g, but with what I have in there, it just wouldn't work. His name is Streak. Once my room is done re-modeling, I'll be getting another 10g. I'll divided into 3 parts, and hopefully put him in one of them (along with 2 other Betas).
