The way I get hamster tubing to float is to slowly put it into the water so that air gets trapped in the grooves on the top.

I know she has 12 females, but I am not sure if all are in the tank.
I had 4 females and it didn't work...I'd go with 6-8 in that size tank. I think I am going to use the theory for Lake Malawi African cichlids: more fish spread out the aggression. So has long as you r have enough filtration and can do lot of water changes. There has to be a way for it to work. Other people don't have problems.
When I do the 33g I am going with 8-10. I am hoping that one of the breeders here with have a spawn with lots of females.

Hi, Shelly! Thanks for asking. Light is a little bit stressed today. I moved him to a new place. I think he doesn't like noise from the filter pump and moving water. It will take him a few days to get familiar with this tank. Misa shares her new tank with my other female Betta (divided). She is a little bit confused too. Hope they will be comfortable and happy in their new homes :-)

Apple/mystery snails like to eat some algae, but I also feed them veggie wafers. Apple/Mystery snails are either a female or a male and you won't know until they mature. 3 of my 4 snails are males because the 3 males are constantly trying to get at "goldie" my female snail. "Tiki" my ivory male snail won the mating match. As for other snail species, be careful because they can be both sexes which means you could end up with over populating-babie-snails with no end in sight.
Sorry to say, loaches do kill snails. For more info. go to this site:

    and look up fish/apple snails

I just noticed that you have loaches in your 29 gallon aquarium. You may not want to put apple/mystery snails in with them because I believe loaches will kill snails. I will check a freshwater compatiablity chart for you and let you know tomorrow.

Thanks for viewing my picture of my blue snail. I have 4 apple snails and I think 2 of them just mated today. I am hoping for snail babies. I also have a betta, 8 neon tetras, 2 black moors, 4 cory cats & 3 platies split up between 2 = 20 gallon aquariums.
It was nice chatting. See ya.....
