    Hi nitz, Hi Escobar.
Approx a week ago I lost the Platy , so I was down to just my remaining 3 neons and my soldier boy r.t.b.shark. They've all been ok apart from 1 neon which had a few speckles of white spots on its fins for the last week. Then two days ago i noticed it had spread all over its body. Yesterday i coudnt find it, and this morning i did
so im down tomy last 2 neons and rt.b. now. These guys look clean now. They gotta survive, they must ! .. lol (I think that was a crazy laugh, Im going mad here.. lol) Its been over two weeks now u c. Its been 10 days now since using ws3. according to the bottle i did a 10% water change last night and still continueing with the meds, until 48 hours after there is no sign of the white spot, as I believe is the case now. Hopefully its the last i see of the **** parasites! What a plague!
anyways Ill let u guys know if im in the all clear in afew days. Thanks for the concern and advice guys.

p.s. ive had the airstones as high as i can, without converting my tank into a wirlpool. lol.

That sucks man. I lost a couple of fish when ICH broke out in my tank. At first I only treated it with heat and airstones to keep enough oxygen in the water. Do you have your airstones as high as they can go and on all the time? Another thing, did you take out any activated carbon from the filter? It actually takes meds out of the water so the meds won't be as effective as they could be.

Stick to what the bottle says. If it says to do water changes after a certain number of days, follow that. Some people say to do daily 50% water changes but that's if you're treating your tank with raised temp only. After you finish the med schedule, do the recommended water change and put some fresh activated carbon into the filter. Leave the carbon in there a few days then either take it out or change it. Do water changes every couple days after you finish with the meds.

Good luck. Let me know how things go.

Hi. thanks for asking. Yes they did. I was treating them with Protozin, at first. After 4 days there didnt seem to have the white spots no longer. The last dose was given on the 6th day as stated on the bottle. I thought Id gotten rid of the Ich. On the 7th day I did a water change, placed the decoratives back into the tank and turned the heater down a notch. I was intending to return the temp very slowly, over a day or two, before turning down the air stones. However on the 8th day, morning, I noticed my last remaining platy had white spots again! :-( so I thought ****.. howd they come back? from the ornaments, or perhaps they were still lurking in the tank. Any way I returned the temp back to 84F, even though the temp hadnt dropped by more than 0.5F.
Immediately I dosed the tank with a solution called WS3 which is a concentrated medication, and highly recommended by 4 LFS, and which the staff swear by it and use it themselves. Its now been 4 days since using that. I did a 10% water change last night. The platy still shows signs of the white spots and so do my three neons. My rtb shark looks ok. The platy is always really gasping. His gills and mouth are working overtime. Really worried about him. Out of all the platys I had she was the most healthy and happy looking. always chasing the others around. Must be healthy. Im just so glad that they are all hanging in there. I had so many casulties at first. devasted. Just cant seem to get rid of this **** Ich. Im just praying all the time.....

Have been checking up on the synodontis and they are ok. But they are not real algae eaters and they are mainly scavengers. But as I have the redtailed botia who are also scavengers, I'm having second thoughts about getting a syno. I might just get another gibbicep, but smaller than the one I got before. And also if I do get a syno, he'll be competing with my botia for the left overs as they are both bottom dwellers.
