    Hi Pam.
    It looks like you're over thinking everything and a lot of info is being given you at once. I can't pm you yet so let me simplify it here for you.
    1) Set up tank, heater, gravel, decorations.
    2) Cycle the tank in one of the ways Alessa outlined in this post: http://www.fishlore.com/fishforum/be...-betta-ok.html
    3) Use a good water conditioner (dechlorinator) such as Stress Coat+ or prime
    4) Feed according to the link I gave you.

    5) Enjoy your new betta

    Only 1 other thing, don't be fooled by a product called Cycle, it will not cycle the tank. The only product that will cycle your tank quickly is the one Alessa mentions in her cycling outline.
