Morning Melissa, Thats a great idea for a project for your son-print pic of a step-by-step cycle and pic of good and bad tanks that would be cool....and it may help get some kids started in the hobby too when they see that its a science....and maybe some grown-ups too and after see if it could be placed at petsmart or petco or even a LFS and they may even give him a store credit for it, sounds like fun....Brenda

Hey Melissa, Me tooo...I don't do cold or hot; I like it just right......after I got sick and all the stuff that goes with it trying to get better....some days all I can do is lay on the floor and watch fish and pray for a good day.....Yea all my tanks given to me or got in a G-sale-love those prices and my fish most I got out of the creek in my pasture-do you have wild guppies where your at I do, and the males have some color on their tails-orange/green/red, females have a muddy green/brown tails, I cross the females with store bought males-I wish I could figure out how to get good pic. of them to post-one cross male I have is so pretty-dark body, light blue head, powder blue dorsal fin, and bright orange tail with black spots-colorful guy-he is in a tank with 7 wild cross females got my first babies from him yesterday only eight but I didn't catch her in time to keep the fry from being eaten-it seem like it take forever-breeding, fry, growth, breeding etc....just something to keep my mind busy.....

Hey Melissa, I hope I am going to the right place to respond lol-I must have missed the mess you wrote about-I guess if the mods lock it you can't read it-I was reading some old post by one of the mod when I first found this site and it looked like they had a problem with some ugly stuff-The mod here seem to be really good at staying on-top of that stuff-sure glad-have zero intrest in that kind of uglyness-I am impressed in how this site is ran-but I noticed that all of the fish related sites are pretty good-I guess fishy folks are just good people, but most people that love animals are...
Cool fish-I need to get 5 more clown loaches I didn't know they were schooling fish either-I knew I like this fish and needed to keep the snail pop under control in my 55g and I think I would look nice having a school, my plan for the 55g was to put grown male guppies from my wild cross and the grown female betta-so I only have 4 fish in that tank right now-I need to stop setting-up tanks I have 7 up and running now and would like to set-up my other 55g for killies-seen some photos-beautiful fish but cost lots $$$ and some are annuals-$30.00 for a fish thats live only a year-I don't know-I wish my son would get into tanks like yours...see ya

Hey Melissa, I am so confused when it comes to computers I started a message and my computer froze-up again have no idea what to do so if you got a post that was not complete sorry, finding my way around better you would think at my age I would know how to do this. I must say this site is layed out the easiest and the mod's do a great job. I am a member of 3 different fish related sites and I like this one the best. I have been in this hobby for a long time but still learning new stuff. My 13 year old son wanted a tank and I got him one but that only lasted about 2 months and he gave it to me, I wish he was as dedicated as some of the teenages here on this site some of the kids here are pretty sharp, both on computer and fish related topics. Hey MrsM3197,
Ive been in this hobby for a long time almost 40 years now, I think I have had a tank of some kind since I was 10 years old, I have only had a computer and on the internet for about 3 months now and boy am I lost. I love this site "fishlore" I have been on other fish related sites and they are either way over my head or geared to the very young, this site "is-just-right" Even being in the hobby for as long as I have been I have still learned something here, I was limited to just books until now......
