Hi If your tank is cycled, I'd suggest once a week before a water change if your tank is fairly new. With consistant maintainance monthly or so is fine unless you make changes like adding or removing something. It's always good to check the water if you notice changes in your fish.

    Hey there!!

In my oppinion, a 30 gallon is just too small for both types of fish. You'll need at least 55 gallons to keep two blood parrots, which is the recommended number.

And the ghost knife can grow to be 20 inches or more! so it wont fit either.

    good luck!

hello hope all is well with you too. As for your question, Im afraid that your 30 is just too small for the ghost fish that will grow up to 20 inches. If you plan on buying a larger tank in the future or when it is needed to upgrade, then I think you can start off with it. The Parrots, I have found are not aggressive at all but shy and peaceful to all my other fish. They seem to be very happy in a least a pair of them rather than one alone. They do grow fast tho, as much as it would be nice to have them, Im afraid the 30g is going to be too small for these fish as well. Sorry, wish I could be more positive for you. Both are wonderful fish to keep and yes, in a larger tank you can keep the both of them together. :-)

Mine is 2 inches too at the moment, but that is not their adult size. They will grow to be around 6-7 inches and become increasingly agressive with time. Again, if your 22 gallon is a "long" tank, with at least 30in of length, you might be able to get away with it for now. But when it grows and becomes agressive, it is most likely that you will have to move it, or give it away to someone, which isn't always easy.

Me, I am getting a 55 gallons in december, and I will be moving mine, because it is most likely that it will end up not fitting in my 30 gallon.

Hey mohammad, thanks for your friend request!

A RTS should Ideally be kept in a 55 gallons both because of size and agressiveness. I have mine however in a 30 gallons, because it should do "ok" having at least 30 inches of length at the base of the aquarium so it can have enough room to swim.

I really wouldn't keep one in anything less than 28 gallons long. Even that, I know I am running a risk with my 30 because the shark will grow to be 6 inches and it will get agressive. I am prepared to move it if its necessary.
    good luck!

It could have. Tropical fish need to be kept at whatever temp is within their range.
