gremlin By their fins. If you look at the dorsal fin, you can see it almost comes up to a point towards the front so that it is almost triangular in shape. The tail is also very pointed and deeply forked. A female's fins are much more rounded and shorter. If you look at the pics in my album called (my fishies), the all black one and the all white one are males. The last pic of a white one with a few orange spots has much shorter and rounder fins, that one is a female. The three pics of orange goldies, the one in the middle is a female - she has two white vertical bars that come up from her belly. Then on either side of her are two pics of my orange male that has a very deeply split tail. He is all orange, but it looks like his tail was dipped in white paint (or bleach) where it turns white on the back half. Those are fairly good pics to show the difference in the fins between the male and the female. Every one of those goldfish started out as feeder fish from either WalMart or PetsMart.

Je55*e Hello! I saw a post of yours on the thread about the poor Goldie with
ammonia burn. You said it was a male. How do you sex Goldfish? I'd love to know!
