Just re-read your Hatchet care guide. I'm about to set up a twenty gallon, and get more Hatchets so that they can school and be happier (though mine have lived with me over a year and seem well, knock on wood!). You mentioned "fresh delcia" to feed them. What is that?

Here's the passage that's from, in case you'd like to see:
"They need a carnivorous diet and will not take food from anywhere but the very surface. For this reason, I recommend you feed them carnivorous flake food, and Tetra fresh delcia. Fresh Delcia is really useful when feeding hatchets because you feed it from the very surface. Tiger barbs are bad tankmates because they will outcompete their delicate friends. I find small fishes like Neons and Cherry barbs are good tankmates for hatchets."

    Thanks!

it would just make it a bit easier, so that way I could just use that, instead of looking at that, and if i like the description, having to go to other websites to find the rest of the info...

    Hi Hatchet
Got 2 extra Swordtails and that has changed the feeling in the tank alot!

Brought six cardinal tetras to eventually replace the Neons (4). Currently they are schooling together. I think I am well and truely full! So no extra fish.

Otherwise it is looking at adding plants. Checking water parameters and lots of water changes.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Hatchet
Yep they can be a bit funny those fish! Will look at getting the extras to reduce the stress for our local "Lazerus".

We had a bit of a electricity use issue as well just for your interest. An extra $200.00 american for the month over the usual since we got the tank. Got a bit worried but in the end it wasn't the tank but the electricity company... would have needed to get my own generator at that rate.

Hope you and yours are well.

    Hi Hatchet

(When is a dead fish really dead!!?)

It's a bit embarrassing... but as a newbie.... You know that dead Swordtail fish... will.... it wasn't dead (I wrote to you prior pulling it out of the tank). When I tried to pull it out with the net it swam off at a great rate of knots... much to the amusement of my family espesically the wife.... so I left it in the tank. In my embarrassment I didn't really want to let on!

Now it appears after a period of illness it has perked up and is out and about.
I have noticed though that the other (now much larger) Swordtail is taking to it whenever it is near. Do you think another Swordtail might help to stop this.

The Serpae's have stopped chasing the Swordtails now which is excellent.

Hope this gives you a laugh.
