I know the place you're talking about on 34. They're nice people, but I found them too expensive for buying equipment from them.
I know Marc too. He's very friendly and helpful. I didn't realize he had that size tank. Wish I did. My discus could use some elbow room.
    I know, back to work...

Sorry about losing your guys. I've had trouble with cory's. They are so cute and funny, but they just don't work for me. And now that I have the discus. I'm not sure the water temp and pH would be right for cory's. I've got silly loaches now. They're fun to watch too.

I buy mostly at the local shops "Perfect Pets". They sometimes have nice selections and the people that work there are very friendly. I bought my Betta at Pet-co, a rescue mission that was. : ) My goldies came from a shop that is no longer in business. My 4 koi were bought at an ugly little shop in Saybrook "Guppies to Puppies". They were so tiny and now so fat and sassy. Three of my discus came from "All Pets" in Branford. They too were very small. They threw one in for free. He didn't look good, now he's a fiesty male, I think. He's showing interest in another fish. A lot of flairing and hanging out together. He's trying to keep others away from this one. Could be spawning time. : )
I'll keep my fingers crossed that you have help to put together a pond. I found pumps and filters on ebay. What you need to do is plan ahead. Gather your stuff. Then begin digging. : ) I was lucky it was very sandy here, not too hard to dig. There I was pick axe in hand and I never needed it. Good luck. : ) Stay in touch. Jess

Hi froggiegal, I meant to mention, if you do put together a pond. I have some goldies that could use a home. My pond is a bit over stocked. Free to a good home : )

Hi froggiegal, I'm not far away, Milford near the harbor. : ) I was lucky, my pond came with my house. I did make it deeper and larger so the fish could make it through the winter. My yard is very shady so you might say that my pond is my garden. : )

    Hi froggiegal,
Thanks we enjoy the pond : ) No, I'm in CT too. I just pickup the planters and stick them in the basement. Very easy no digging. Then just pull them out in the Spring and start watering them and up they come again. : ) My soil isn't very good and I have better luck with container planting. Take care, Jess

Hmm. It may just be the breeders that supply for the wholesalers in the US.

    Hi,

I think it's just a territorial thing. I'll check back later this week. Will do water checks tonight. Hoping to get more fish for the 50G. Have a good day!

Not sure... still just the one, if it's still there. Barely even been near the fish tanks in a few days. Not sure if that's actually any kind of mating behavior, though... wouldn't expect that until they're 3 or 4 inches.
