I posted a couple videos of two of my newest bettas in the freshwater video section if you care to see them and comment ... would welcome your opinion. Their names are Fathom and my fourth time around with a Marty in my crew. I could not have tanks without a Marty in them.

Not a lot actually. I am not here full time. Actually while I will not say where I am moding at another forum much smaller than this. I like it and missed my friends here so agreed to come back to post some here too, but my full time job is at the other place. My health just will not let me take on a job this big anymore. But I want to stay in contact here.

It sure has been a long time, hasn't it? I will stop by and see what's changed in the last little while since I was last on there.

I am not a betta enthusiast who really recommends betta breeding by any but the professionals, but I will say that it is a long process of special feeding and takes weeks of getting them acquainted by gradually showing them to each other little by little. Martinismommy is the betta breeder here and could give you the exact directions if you decide to go ahead with it. I just am too wary of those doing it who are not aware of the dangers. The fish can easily die or seriously wound each other as they get quite vicious. And if they are not properly conditioned ahead of time they simply die of exhaustion during the process. It is also an expensive and very labor intensive process. So if he has a staff of people willing to help him perhaps it is worth his while but it is not like having guppies or mollies where you just put them in the same tank and let them go. It is a 24/7 job for several months. Please be sure he is aware of this and do please talk to Martinismommy first. I will be happy to help you of course but I want to be sure that you know of the problems that can be had before this is attempted.

Until today. September 18, 2009, I have been on sabatical from the forum so I do apologize for any unanswered posts here. I have been unable to get back as often as I would have liked due to family and health issues. Thank you for your patience and I will be back more regularly at least through the winter.

Hi Chickadee! So sorry to see you lost Ariel-what a stunning fish.
As you have experience with Bettas and lymphocystitis, I was wondering if you could help me with our new Betta "Laser". Laser has it real good in a 10g tank with some peppered and panda cories and lots of hiding places and plants. He is a relatively new addition to our family and I have just spotted a white thing on one of his long fins. It sort of rminds me of a comma (,), not a blob or cauliflower growth. I've searched high and low on the internet and have no clue what I am up against. If you think it is this dreaded disease, please let me asap!!!
