I have about 100 Guppy and Molly fry in it already, they breed very quick! And will have some platty's soon as well.

I am also trying to find a boy BN pleco to go with my 2 girls and I will brred some of them as well. I have 3 good local fish stores who will take the ones I don't want to keep to breed from.

I am trying to get myself a good colour strain going at the moment I am at the F1 stage where I get half blacks and half yellows and a few blues creep in so they need to be bred out.

Good luck with your plants but from what you have said I think you are going in the right direction more light = better plants

hey m8 sorry only just read your message, have been offline rebuilding PC and building my new fry tank ... a 90ltr corner tank .... but yes you are right plants need light to grow well I use 10000k White Tubes in my tanks for at least 6 hours a day to keep them growing well.

The beauty of plants though is that when they are healthy they keep the water fresh by removing organic nitrates and phosphates from the water reducing the ammount of water changes you need to make.

Since I put mine in I only have to do 10% water changes rather than 25% that I was doing and I have a heavy bioload in my main tank with 4 plecos in there.

I am not as knowledgeable as I'd like to be, but it's such a fascinating world, there's always more to learn and it's fun to do so.
I have two tanks right now; the established 6 gallon and my new 20 gallon. =)

Oh, gosh, no problem. I'm sure you're getting much more help from the other members, though! I'm only a year and a half into fish keeping, but it's so much fun and addictive. I've got a new 20g tank that's getting ready right now, so I'm excited.
