hi j_shepard and welcome to fishlore! thanks for stopping by my page. If you go to the Discus species board in the forum you will find a Discus Care Sheet there. You will find lots of info on the Discus. As far as Angels and Discus, they are both South American Cichlids and both have the same PH requirements. Which is normally a low Ph. My PH is 6.4. They both can do fine even in a 7-7.5 Ph. I would say, most likely not much higher than that tho. The problem that some have, and I have had to separate my Angels and Discus is their aggression towards each other. That is the reason each tank shows one Discus and one Angel. I worked at finding which two will at least get along enough without hurting each other. Ive had the four of them for over a year and a half now and there are two that get along fine in the 55. The other two I had to separate for about three months or so and just recently took the divider out to see how they get along now. It seems to be ok. But... as I have seen and others have experienced as well, most of the time these two do not get a long with each other, but its not because of the PH, its because they are both cichlids and can be aggressive. Good luck with your stocking ideas and if we can help.. post a thread in the forum and we can give you a hand! :-)

I dont have a tank yet. I am doing some research before I decide to buy. I love Angelfish, that was my main fish and thats the one I am basing my tank on. I saw a picture of a Discus and just fell in love. Most websites I go to tell me Angel's and Discus' do not go good together because of their pH levels. I see you have one of each in a tank of yours. Can you tell me what your pH level is? Have you experienced any problems with them two? Ext... Thank you for all your help.
