Is there any thing I would not need for a 12 gallon reef nano cube?

Hi for Christmas I might get a 12 gallon nano-cube. I have never had saltwater so what fish should I get? Should I get live rock? Could I get coral? What kind of clean up crew should I get? And what things beside the tank do I need. Thank you, Matt6765
