One of the new guppies died, so i got another one b/c of the guarantee in the store but now another one has died. The new one seems fine tho, but the water is perfect so don't know why they're dying.

probably a disease problem at the store. hopefully the new guy is good and Dave will make it.. you need a Dave there to bug you in person.

Well he's deffinately bugging me! He wont leave Mickey (the new guppie) alone chases him everywhere, to extent that micky now is hiding constantly.

is it just the 2 of them now? that would be a problem and when you can get the 3rd guppy in maybe it'll improve.

yea just the two now. I don't know about a 3rd guppie. Dave chased the other 2 that died as well, its not just Mickey. Maybe dave is just a bit of a bully.

he's just cranky since he wants to watch doctor who! really with guppys, you need 3 or more - otherwise the pecking order becomes a 1-sided bullying.. i'd get the 2 biggest male guppies the shop has.. take Dave out, rearrange the tank decor, then put the new guppies in before putting Dave in.. then maybe peace will reign in the guppy tank.

hmm ok. good idea. I'm not going to get ottos any more. I'll just do like you said get another 2 guppies and see what happenes.

K now theres 4 guppies in the 7.5gal. I've constructed this thing to put Mickey in to stop Dave chasing him and nipping while i treat him for finrot. http://www.fishlore.com/Forum/4-fres...e.new.html#new

I hope it will help him. He seems to like it in there. I've never seen him swim so much!

lol No! I will miss talking to you while im on holiday! My question now is tho, is it best to leave him in the new set up while im on holiday just to make sure he doesn't get nipped/chased or anything while im away?

i'm not sure really.. it's going to be your judgement call on that. do you think he'll be happy in his netting and be able to get food from a holiday feeder in the netting (without the food falling out of it) or do you think he'd be better off fending for himself with the others?

Dave - My mum's friend is comming over now to feed them every 3 days i think she said she'd come. So she'll be able to put food in the net for him.

I think maybe I'll just leave him in the tank with theothers while im on holiday. Maybe he'll be more confident swimming around by then.
