Newbie here... 100 gallon tank

Hi all... Just started a SW aquarium 3 weeks ago. Here's my setup

100 gallons

1 Imperator Angel - Mature
3 Maroon Clownfish
1 Lionfish - Not sure if dwarf
1 Flagtail Angel
1 Blue Tang
1 Powder brown Tang
1 Sailfin Blenny
1 Dresser Crab
1 Foxface Rabbitfish
1 Hawkfish - the one that looks like a crabstick
2 Filefish - Not sure what kind... the spotted ones

Don't really remember the rest.... Will have a look tomorrow and will take some photos

15 Gallon

1 Flower Horn - Not sure what kind as well

10 Gallon

1 Flower Horn - Looks the same as the other one but in my office

150 Gallon

2 Piegon blood Discus
2 Cobalt Blue Discus
1 Diamond Blue Discus
1 Heckel Discus - I'm not sure
3 Gold looking Discus
1 Elephant nose/fish

This is a great forum hope to learn a lot from you guys with regards to SW fish... I am new to this but have been keeping aquariums since I was 5. Got bored with the arowanas so I stepped up to SW. Btw. I currently live in Manila, Philippines... The fish here are sooooooooo cheap!!!!! As in, I got an emperor angel for $5!!!! that's mature as well....

Re: Newbie here... 100 gallon tank

tweak the temperature up to around 82-84F, that'll help to stop it. Ich doesn't like warm water. Keep the water changes going and it should clear up.

Re: Newbie here... 100 gallon tank

If the ich is persistant or you want to add something to the water for it, i'd recommend: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...&N=2004+113016. It's an organic ich remedy that won't interfere with your good bacteria and is safe for what looks like everything.

Re: Newbie here... 100 gallon tank

personally, I prefer the natural method of temperature + changes to cure ich, mainly because I don't like meds unless they are absolutely necessary. But if it is persistant, sometimes we have to take the appropriate action. My main concern here would be the size of the tank and the amount of meds required to treat it. this is why I would opt for the first option!

I only like to use meds when necessary and am going more to these new herbal organic remedies over traditional chemical meds.
