Re: timg's aquariums

I'm looking for a really nice castle to go down the far end and the church needs a tall spire to go into the column tank that's going above.

you could have the Daleks wiping out the town! EXTERMINATE! I've got a nice castle here, but i think it'd be too small for that tank but i wish you good luck in finding those pieces.

Re: timg's aquariums

It's an air operated water wheel that I found in a local pet store. the wheel spins as the air bubbles under it. Here's a quick vid of it working:

Hi TIm...
great tank and theme going there just love your imagination with the tanks!

Dave,
Petsmart has those air operated wheels as well. They come in styles with a country home and a log cabin as well.

Re: timg's aquariums

News Flash:

More fry have been spotted in tim's tanks! Reporters say that over 100 dwarf gouramis, at least 50 guppies and several platties have been seen free-swimming in large tanks.

Tim says he was unaware of the new arrivals and has vowed to contain the outbreak, but refuses to consider birth control as an option.

He states that no matter how many new arrivals appear they will all be re-homed in one of the LFS's in his area.

Re: timg's aquariums

and the gouramis are at it again!... that's 4 spornings in the last 4 days, all in the same nest, on top of the two spornings two weeks ago. I guess the theory that they would perform well in the column has proved to be accurate! At this rate, I shall need to get a team of males to take it in turns looking after the nest and obliging the females.

At the moment I have three females and one male in the tank. The females are taking it in turns with the male and it's almost a continuous cycle. I wonder just how long this can continue. Is it normal for them to continually breed this way, or is it something that I should intervene in?

Shame to stop now though, as there is a good demand for gouramis locally and at this rate I should soon be able to corner the market!

Re: timg's aquariums

You must be doing something right! How long did you say you have kept fish? I would love to know your secret. I guess this is the sort of thing that determines what path a person takes in life. If something is easy for you, do it!
