| Great job! It looks really good Just my opinion though, you can add more tall background plants and add a black background if you want. It'll look very nice Good luck and thanks for sharing the photos! |

| Hi Peacemaker,
Thx 4 your input. I am actually in working to make the background dark, to use black tint on the outside abck. I did have taller plants in the tank, however I also had 3 tilapias in as well, the tilapias vandalised the palnts, so I had removed them and gave them their own tank.
Plants is going steady again. |

| Nice tank Just so that you're warned.... you will likely end up will no plants after the oscar and convict put on some size. Oscars will dig up plants and re-arrange everything in their tank and convicts will eat plants. |

| Hi MissMTS,
Yep I am fully aware of the fact that Oscars destroys one's hard work. I have a large oscar in my 130 gallon tank - which was planted beautifully & the Oscar desided to rearrange the tank the oscar saw fit. As soon as the two cichlids grows a little bigger they are going to a bigger tank - with fewer tall plants, moss, dwarf hair grass, & rounded rocks. |

| Sounds like a great plan I didn't know whether or not you knew and I'm sure it would have been devastating to have them wreck the tank. I myself kept a convict in a planted tank for a few months until I was able to move her to the big tank with no major damage to the plants |

| Tank looks great. Does the tank get a lot of algae being right in front of the window? |

| I love that natural fencing you did - it looks really cool and unique. heehee, I think it's cute when fishies rearrange the decor. Everyone has their own style, and who are we to say what looks good to them. |

Algae is not a problem for me. the blinds has never been opened during daylight - so no direct daylight has ever been on my tank.
Also I have noticed that when I had very little real plants in the tank the algae was definatly more, after adding more live plants the algae is struggling to overwhelm the tank. Plants & algae fighting for the same resources.
I also do weekly 25% water change & that alos helps to limit the growth of the algae. I am a aglae killer
Cheers : |

Cheers : | Sounds like you got that under control. Put a pleco in there and there really won't be any algae. |
