My First Tank. :)

this is my first real tank. my black moor got cotton wool, and died, but not until after I spent tons of money to save him and buy him a new tank for when he got better. So after three days of mourning i went and got my Jack Dempsey ( which unfortunately i had not researched, but i love him.he just gets HUGE.) which got beat up by the dumb woman at Walmart. He was really mopey for awhile, and I got him the new bigger tank seen here. He's super happy, and has even started eating out of my hand.

Welcome to Fishlore! Are you going to move him to a larger tank later on?

Welcome! He looks super, I wish I could have one... but I hope you are considering moving him to a larger tank, like around the 55-75 gallon range.

He looks beautiful! Great rescue! haha The tank you have him in should be no problem for A WHILE and if you don't put any other fish into it. Hope to see him in a larger tank in the months or years to come. Start saving! Great job!

Very nice JD. I recently got an electric blue JD that's about 3 inches.

Hello NewJD andto Fish Lore. Your tank is beautiful and so is your new Jack Dempsey. Here is a profile for your new fish just in case you may not have seen it. It will give you a little bit more information on it.

Enjoy your new fish. Hopefully you can get him even a larger home a little ways down the road.
Best of luck. I hope you enjoy the site. Lots of good information and friendly people here.
If you need any help don't hesitate to ask.

He's definitely getting a bigger tank, but i'm in college and this is the largest one I can have in my dorm. No tank mates for him though. I'm going to have to give my cory i got as a clean up crew away to my friend with a less aggressive cichlid. Gustav is a grumpy gills.

He's gorgeous! But just remember that he can only stay in that tank a few months before he's going to need a LARGE tank. Any longer than that & you'll begin stunting his growth
