I think I've lost my marbles....

Alright fellow FishLorians, you've done it now.
I think I may have gone a little insane.
This morning found me washing what is essentially mud (pool filter sand) in the bathtub, soaking a piece of mopani in a giant igloo cooler in the back yard, boiling water on the stove to give some rocks a bath, and gluing even more rocks together in the garage........not to mention putting gravel into a piece of panty hose...... I mean who does this stuff!!!!
My room mate came home and didnt even say a word, just looked at me, shook his head and wandered off to the next room. After he tried to retrieve a cold beverage from above said cooler only to find a big piece of a tree trunk.
I have no one to blame but you guys....mom always said the internet would get me into trouble, but I didn't think that it would be this kind....
Excuse me while I go look up therapists in the yellow pages....

Yea it's all good. And the tank has never looked better!
I'll post some pics as soon as I can get my hands on a camera.
I can't afford one right now as I've spent most of my funds on these fish and their home. The guy at the LFS said to take the gallon size of the aquarium and add a zero to it. That's how much it will cost to get it up and running. My calculations have him off by at least a hundred $.... in the wrong direction.

Forget the yellow pages...we also have plenty of therapists right here who can 'help' you. You've already met a couple

I believe Shawnie is our site's registered therapist for people like you... and me... and pretty much everyone else on this site talk with her. she might be able to "assess" and "treat" your mental state.

I wasn't going to mention her. She's charges like a wounded bull!

When it comes to MTS the standard treatment is group therapy and self medication (just tell your roomie back when you bring in a new tank as part of the med plan. )

My LFS owner tells me I spend so much time around his place that he will give it to me once he retires. So far think I spent more money on that place then the owners .

You nuts nah!

Well check this out and tell me. This is my kids pool. I had for about 4 days rocks on my garden tub. One plastic tub with fish on it while fixing the main one on the living room. Had to leave the cars parked outside cuz the garage was filled with a 100 gal tank and stand with work in process. Had to sleep with the dog for a bit.

WOW!!
That's a nice hunk of wood though, seems worth it to me.
We have a two car garage and I don't think I'll ever be able to park a car in my half of it.
I don't have a dog but maybe I can sleep with the neighbor kid.......

I SO agree! Every time I work on my tank or just stare at it, I can't believe I'm actually into this hobby. It's crazy! Some of my friends think I'm crazy because whenever I talk about fish tanks, it's like they're listening to a crazy fish addict!

It's the way everyone recognizes me. "Hey there's that fish guy!"...

It bugs me every now and then, but then when I get home I go straight to the fish room -- I mean, bedroom to relax and feel at ease.

Wow... we are crazy...

Yep, but if we were sane, we'd be horrible fishkeepers. Our craziness helps us make better and more original homes for our finned babies

If it makes you feel better, I've changed the substrate in 3 tanks in the last 7 days. The fish in those tanks think I'm bi-polar

Haha... Bolivanbaby that's so true. My betta watches me do water tests like 8 times a day and he probably thinks "This human needs to get a life". Hopefully he knows I'm doing it for his own good.

I think it is safe to quote this...."Anyway, this is when I stumbled upon Fishlore. I saw these crazy people with so many tanks each - now I am envious of them! (they're still crazy though!)."
Of course. I'm not one of them am I? But I do agree that you have to be crazy to be good at it!

I was thinking of a more positive crazy person, like Einstein, but Napoleon works And we can never forget about some of the greatest artist's in history.

And let's not forget Shakespeare! I can guarantee that man was NOT SANE!
