Ya she does. She has to many so she is trying to get rid of as many platy's as she can. She bring some to the fish store and I take some.

If I got 5 male platy's would they breed with my cory's, guppy's, gourami's, or neon tetras?

I don't think so The only thing I've ever heard of is platys and mollys interbreeding.

TSS is tetra safe start. It cycles you tank the minute you put it in the water. Its great to use.

So it sounds like you vouch for TSS? I've just put some in my tank this morning its a 15 gallon and its been up and running for 8 days. apparently its approaching the second stage of cycling: low ammonia and high nitrite and nitrate. so I should be expecting a fully cycled tank soon then?

the gouramis should be fine, just try to get a pair there is less babbling if there is going to be any in the first place. your tank sounds pretty good to me.

Good morning. Once Tetra Safe Start (TSS) has been added, nothing should be done to your tank for the first 10 days. If you need to top off the water that should be ok with no delays to the cycle. I suggest not doing any water change before the 10 days are up.
