Don't know what to do with 29 or 30 gallon tank!!

I just found a 29 or 30 gallon tank. It was out by the side of the road. It came with gravel and a hood. I took out the gravel and started cleaning it. Now I'm doing a leak test to make use I can use it. If the tank does work What should I do with it? Should I transfer all my stuff from the 28 to the 29 or 30?? Or make a FW tank out of it? I have everything to start, but a heater. What should I do with it?

Are you looking to set up another saltwater tank or would you be considering freshwater?

Wow, how cool to just find a tank!
I love FW community tanks. I'm partial to my stock.
1 DG, 3 guppies, 10 cardinals 2 pygmy cories and snail.

I already have SW so I was leaning to FW. I like African cichlids a WHOLE bunch.

Yes, I'm sure is was free. It was out near the road and there was an old broken lamp next to it. I will take a picture.

Africans need too much room. How about american cichlids?

Convicts, bolivian rams, blue rams, many members of the apistogramma species are South American and due to their small size, they'd do great in a 29, as long as they have the correct territories.

I don't know oo much about cichlids, but it would depend on the species. Some get much too large for a 29/30g.

American cichlids like bolivian or convicts or any apisto species stay small enough to house in a 30gallon

You could do certain South Americans, certain Central Americans, or certain Africans.
Just depends on what you like.

Some quick examples would be

S/A
Either ram would work, Microgeophagus Altispinosa or Mikrogeophagus Ramirezi
Cleithracara Maronii
Aequidens Metae
Thorichthys Affinis
A Laetacara species
Nannacara Anomala
Cryptoheros Sajica
Aequidens Portalegrensis
Like said any Apistogramma
Cryptoheros sp. 'honduran red point'
Cryptoheros Nanoluteus

C/A
Neetroplus Nematopus
Herotilapia Multispinosa
Archocentrus Myrnae

African
Steatocranus Casuarius
A Hemichromis species
Anomalochromis thomasi
Pelvicachromis Pulcher or Pelvicachromis Taeniatus

You could only get away with a pair of ONE species but there is lots you can do with a 29 gallon tank. Good luck.
