Wow, it's so beautiful! I want to start a reef tank, but that will be awhile considering I just gon my 20 gallon up and running hehe. Man, there are a lot of different types of coral in that tank! Is it hard to take care of them?

Thanks!

It's not really that hard to do, it's just more expensive. You need a lot more light than what you would use for FW (except for high tech planted tanks, maybe), and there is more equipment involved overall.

Picked up another new addition today, probably the last fish for this tank. It's a half black angelfish (centropyge vroliki) and it's drip acclimating right now. I'll try to get pics up soon!

Looking good! The half black angel is a real beauty, stands out really well against the corals.

As for the corals-WOW! Looking really good and healthy.

Keep up the good work Harpua!

Harpua, I don't know how the heck I missed this thread! Your fish and tank are stunning I would love to set up a reef tank one of these days.

Appreciate it guys!

Kate you should go for it! FW is still great fun for me, but expanding to both FW and marine tanks really took my interest in the hobby to a whole new level. It's really not that difficult.

Bad news...
Our filamented flasher wrasse jumped out of the tank. It's covered, but the wrasse must have found a gap. I found it on the floor still alive, so I put it back in the tank, but it was too late. RIP.

We ended up losing the angel as well. I have no idea what happened, but don't think it's related to the wrasse (they are known jumpers). I found him laying sideways on the bottom and then he was dead the next morning. There were no symptoms and the other fish are fine, and the corals look great. I have no idea what's going on but have started a series of water changes to hopefully sort it out.

Thanks friends. All else is well so we're chalking it up to a jumper and an unhealthy specimen at this point. Right now we have no reason to believe otherwise, but we're going to be vigilant to say the least. Frustration happens from time to time... hopefully it is just that involving 2 specimens and not a larger issue.

The yasha is surprisingly personable, for a little goby! He hangs out in the open mostly and rarely goes into the burrow.
