My New 75G FW

Upgraded my old 37G to a 75G.

Lighting is a 2 flourescent bulb shop light and filtration is (2) 2215 Eheims. One setup with filter floss and carbon and the other with bioballs only. Substrate is one bag of pool filter sand that cost a whopping $10 at the pool supply store.

I think I will end up getting takingthe wood piece on the far right side out as it seems out of place to me.

I think it looks great. More plants will really fill it out nicely.

Very nice job. Agreed about the piece of drift wood on the far right hand side. It kinda blocks the view of the really large piece behind it which looks GREAT! Thanks for sharing your pictures

Filters are working good. I got one that is noisey, so I need to pull it apart and see whats going on.

After a few days I think I will pull the rooty wood piece out and leave the long one in there. I do need more plants too.

Going to be a learning curve trying to siphon with the sand. It was a learning curve trying to setup the filters.

It's coming along. Still hasn't fully cleared up yet, but I got some fine filters coming in for the 2215 and hoping that will clear it up, along with water changes. I didn't rinse the sand and now I'm paying for it. The root decoration on the far left side is now standing up and looks ALOT better than laying down like the picture. Bought me some earth stone and added it to the tank, made some nice little holes for the fish to swim through.

I'm really liking the sand and never want to go back to gravel. I will have to stir my sand though, my lep ate my MTS that I put in to take care of the sand. My bala shark seems to like the sand too as it keeps sucking it in and passing it through his gills. Keeps making a mess spreading sand over everything. Bought a couple more Balas, but one didn't make quarantine and also added 5 cardinal tetras to the tank as well. Did my first siphon and wasn't as bad as I expected, but noticed I will have to siphon like once a week to keep it looking clean.

Will take some pictures tonight and post later today or tomorrow morning.

Thanks!

He's the reason behind the 75G, was outgrowing the 12" deep 37G and I wanted something 18" deep. I think he's really enjoying the sand too. Caught him a few times digging a hole under the root, funny to watch him swim and move the sand. He used to grab the gravel in the 37G and move it around piece by piece. They are head standers too and will get straight up and down at the base. They also called a rabbit fish as their head ressembles a rabbit.
