Another question: I've heard around that an adult oscar won't fit in anything smaller than 75 gal at adult size. I was wondering that if I got a 70 gal if 5 gallons woul make a difference? I wouldn't want to cram him into there, I want it to be roomy.

I personally don't think it would hurt an oscar IMO. Maybe others do!

I would do a pair of Severums and a large school of rainbows and a school of cories in the 70 gallon

1 oscar to him self will be fine in a 70g, you might consider an oscar and either a jack dempsey or blue acara or green terror or some other med large aggressive fish.

Just keep an eye on water parameters and water change as frequently as needed.

My Dad had an Oscar and he cleaned the tank once or twice a week. They eat and poop a lot!

My dad and I will be cleaning the tank while my mom and brother take all of the glory and pick out fish. So rude! LOL
