Sorry to hear that. I used a while ago RID ICH but it will stain your silicone. I heard about another product here on the forum that is clear and won't stain but I don't remember the name.

I don't want to use any products. I've heard alot of bad things about them and I don't want it to hurt / kill any of my other fish.

Finally gave in and picked up some Nox-Ich.

Had to relocate my smallest Tiger barb and my smallest albino tiger barb because they both got attacked the other night. All their fins are GONE.

I finally got to see all my fish wake up for the first time today.

Normally my house is already lit up in the morning from the sun, but today it was storming so it was still pretty dark!

I dropped some flakes in, turned the light on and they were all hiding! Next thing I see is the smallest clown loach fly out from his cave and swim across the tank he woke up the other two loaches it was the coolest thing i've ever seen!

10g - has two zebra danios, and two fish we won at the fair last night!

30g - java fern, java moss, hygro, and anacharis; 3 zig zag loach, 10 neon tetra, 5 cherry barb, 1 red tail shark, 1 pleco, 1 khuli loach

55g - 1 rainbow shark, 1 pleco, 3 clown loaches, 3 green tiger barb, 4 albino tiger barbs, 4 gold barbs, 5 checkard barbs, 7 tiger barbs

xathine, you are my hero. I'm in the process of "restoring" a 75gal, stripping and resealing it myself.

I love what you did with the stand you got. Looks GORGEOUS. I might have to do the same with mine, it's got plenty of age showing.

Some less exciting updates:

10g - The two fish we won at the fair ended up being very sick, they were fine for a day or two but I think the danios were beating up on them. I started noticing them hiding and not eating so I got out an old 5g tank for them. But they didn't make it. Also lossed one of the danios.

30g - Bought a bigger light 36" long for 30watts of lighting. Also bought plant friendly substrate and put it in along with a 'fake log' - However during the substrate switch the tank became to cloudy for fish I ended up moving them into the 10g. I gave away the neons, cherry barbs, and khuli loach. - they are now back in the tank but they don't seem very happy

55g - One of my green tiger barbs got in a fight with the rainbow shark and lossed - he didn't make it, and my smallest clown loach got stuck behind one of the caves and died


I've already been browsing craigslist for a bigger tank - I might just go with a 75g and transfer everything over but I really want something bigger.

Yeah, that's why I picked up a 75gal - moving my 10gal and 29gal into it.

Woke up this morning to find the skeleton of one of my clown loaches.

He was completely fine and healthy last night - my bet is he picked a fight with the shark.



Time to upgrade.

giving away all the fish from the 55g aside from my shark, and selling the 55 setup.

I'm going to get a bigger tank when I get a bigger place.

55 is being moved out friday.
