Blood Parrots! :D

So a couple weeks earlier I had a small post asking what my next project should be. It seemed like a blood parrot tank was what would be a fun tank. Since then I have been working to get the tank as clean as I could and to get it decorated and cycled. Finally it is all done, although I could not get the tank perfectly clean.

Anyway, I decorated the tank with a cool looking kind of mountainous setting with a small castle so there would be lots of swim-through hiding spot for such a skittish fish as a blood parrot. The decorations are all resin cast and bought from big als online store. The only problem I really had with them was the way they came from the UPS shipping. Luckily, some none toxic superglue and they came out fine as can be seen in the tank shots.

Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, I only have a 2 mp camera.

Equipment as follows:
Penguin Biowheel 250
Quiet one air pump for a 50g tank w/ 3" bubble disc
100w heater keeping the tank at a steady 77
Koralia nano that only pushes about 50 GPH for added water movement

Looks like you're off to a good start. I'd prefer to see parrots kept in a 55 gallon tank or larger, but a 30 gallon will work for a while.

Thanks for all the compliments. I'll keep in mind to get them a bigger tank as they grow up. I've been considering some alternatives since it was brought up.

Behold! Here they are! Most boisterous eaters and they happily come to the front of the tank to say hello to anyone that comes close.

they are such a hoot!! I just love their faces...mine have actually turned into bullies even if their mouths stop them from hurting anything...but they still try LOL .....just be careful of any decoration they cant get out of as they are the most nosy fish ive ever seen and will squeeze into something and get hurt trying to get out...
