Red Mahogany. Is the best. I can wait to have it ready and running. haha. The bad thing is that I have to move two of my tanks to accommodate this big one. So is going to be a long weekend if I finish everything this weekend.

Tank background

Well today was trim painting and background day. Both are complete and getting ready to clean inside of the tank and probably move it inside to start setting up everything. My wife told me to put it on the dinning room. haha So far we got 4 on the living room and now she tells me to put this one in the dinning room. Ok don't tell me later That I have filled all the rooms with tanks. hahaha

Had a little issue with temp for a bit but right now is at 79-80 degrees and holding. Also put a raw shrimp and some TSS today to give the cycle a NOS Shot and get to the finish line in no time. I'm pretty sure something is going on because water is cloudy as it can be. Well let you guys know tomorrow how's going.
Bye.

Well Finally got indications of ammonia in the new tank. with reading of .5 hopefully this is a signal of the cycle. I added today some 3M Gray ColorQuartz Grade T instead of Gravel. We'll see the readings tomorrow night.

Well not doing so good with the cycling after having a .5 of ammonia yesterday and starting to show a tiny indication of nitrates is all gone. well i put some more bacteria stuff in the water and some plants decorations from the other Cichlids tank to see if it helps. Any recommendations?

You think is good? I'm a starting to have second thoughts because of showing .5 and then went to 0.

Patience... lots of tank to start the bact. colonies to support it. I too have used established items to start up my 10 gal, I think it helped speed it up but I used established gravel and starter H2O from my 30 gal.,but I totally can empathize with the excitement, such a great deal and great stuff. what type of "bacteria stuff" are you using again. So many say that tetra safe start is the only one that works, I don't know, never used. I'm sure someone might have more rec's though, relish the fun friend.

Man, you have 4 in the LR, and now this one in the DR, gotta have your wife talk to mine...lol. Are you going to place some or all those great rock from your cichlid tank into the new one, that's going to look cool. I'm a little jealous.

Update on the tank.

So today I got home and have some packages on the front door. So Rusheed inside to see what it was after the kids where inside and found my new API Master test kit and a new Marineland 300W Deluxe Heater. So I started testing my new tank because just yesterday just finished my test strips. So there I went and these are the results 5 Nitrates, 8.0 pH (Cichlids Tank), .5 Ammonia, 0 NItrites. So I had one of my cartridges from the Emperor 400 inside the new tank just in front of the discharge of the Magnum 350 and today tested and haha got Nitrates. So I swap them out and put a new one in floating and moved rocks and plants from the 55 gal to the new tank. hopefully this will help some more Nitrates if so maybe tomorrow I begin moving fish to the new tank. So while moving rocks The wife dedicated to catch little fry that they have been hiding on rocks and plants. We caught 3 so far. They look so far like little Red Zebras but is too early to say they are about 3/8" long. So there are a few pics.
