so as im sitting at my computer i notice babies swimming away from the bigger fish in my tank, luckily they are laying on the decor in my tank long enough for me to catch them. not sure what they are, but they are full black. they might be the from the black molly i bought today but hard to say, so far there is 6

Probably from the Mollie I'd say. Are you going to raise them?

http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...55&pcatid=1055 thats what they are, its the Black Lyretail Molly i bought today, do u think these are going to live being she just got switched tanks? or is there a chance that it was just her time to have them.

yes i am, i have them in a plastic breeder right now, i have captured 10 so far, hopefully more will come

They should be ok. Try to move the babys as little as possible and they'll do fine.

ight, well im just catching them and putting them in the plastic breeder i have, they are laying on the bottom of it mostly theres a couple swimming up to the surface to check it out. i crumbled up some flakes for them incase they get hungry so hopefully they do good. I'm kinda worried the mom wont make it cause she keeps doing as the only way to describe it is standing up, like she is facing the surface but not swimming, just standing there looking kinda sluggish, well i have a 2 day warranty, but hopefully she pulls threw also

She's just recovering from the birth and should be ok. They're generally quite sluggish after birthing. How'd you feel after popping out 10 babies in an hour?!

Great! If they die it's usually in the first 24hrs so they're doing well. The best advice I can give is leave them where they are till they're at least 2 weeks old. Feed them crushed flake or particle, or if you can get it, baby brine shrimp.

i got some crushed flakes floating at the top, they havent sunk after like 10 hours so i just left them there and they pick at them as they please, beats having to make sure they have food ill look around for the BBS but i havent been able to find any yet

Congrats! If you can't find frozen BBS, then you can hatch your own, although it is a pita and not at all necessary with baby mollies. You can also buy baby fish foods like Lil Bites or Baby Bites.

Could be guppies. At my LFS, while getting the small tank I'm cycling now, one of their black mollies had fry. So cute *-* Their displays are separated tanks with separators that are clear plastic with a circle of holes for water flow... The fry swam right through the circles and into the safety of the pleco tank. It's been a month and most of them are still around, swimming here and there and everywhere. *coos at little black molly fry*
