Hello RTBS
I love your chinese algae eater and your betta! I had to get rid of my chinese algae eater. But he was a golden chinese algae eater. I miss him.... He was the same size when I got him as yours. They are so cute and cleans like crazy.
I had to get rid of him because when he got bigger he went after my angelfish and he would get very aggressive if not feed enough. Don't believe all the bad things people say about them. They can get along with some fish mine got along with zebra danios just fine as long as he was feed good. I think if they are fast and aggressive fish there shouldn't be a problem but I know there is an exception to every rule. Didn't mean to get into all that but a lot of people have read bad things about them and not get them because of it. I'm so glad you took the chance. They sure have a lot or personality.

Thanks speedy, every fish has its own personality, and it seems like he has made my red finned shark alot more active.

The Chinese Algae Eater seems to have claimed the cave since he figured out that the colisseum was already taken (he was ran off). Check them out peeking from their so-called "territory"...

The threads have been merged.
It's best to have one thread of your tank pictures.

I really like the log in the tank. I bet the fish love it.

The CAE's can really be fun. I have three that live in my pond in the summer but are inside for the winter. They really do have personality. All three of mine were normal colored when I bought them, but the largest has gone gold. He now has some of the normal coloring back along his sides towards his tail. They get along fine with my two plecos and the columbian shark and all the goldfish. As long as they have lots of places to claim as their territory and plenty to eat and lots of room to swim, they do fine. As it gets older, it will be more interested in eating omnivore foods. Mine like shrimp pellets.
