Redoing The Tank

Because of an algae prob. I have been going for 2 weeks without light. Next week is the last week. I will then do a big remodel. I already have built a rock cave, which I plan to replace my current one with. I also am going to get more fish and plants?
For fish I am thinking about:
3 more cories (to join my lonely normal one)
3 more otos (same as with cories, only one)
2 angels
2 kribs?
Does that sound fine? I understand if it may overstock my tank a bit.
I also want to get some plants. Any suggestions? I might be getting my tank retrofitted, which would mean more wattage. I want some type of floating plant. would Water Sprite work?

Thanks for reading my humongous post!

2 Angels sounds nice. A breeding pair? The floating plant choices are up to you. Whether you want it nice or not or just for your fish. I'm not quite sure myself. Sorry!

I have finished the 2-weeks with no light, and tomorrow I am going to take out all my plants, check how they are doing, then do a big gravel-flourite change, and put everything back in new!
Any comments or suggestions? How I should do this?

Water sprite, hornwort and amazon frogbit are all good floating plants that will survive in almost any lighting and still grow/multiply rapidly. You could also use guppy grass or java moss as floaters. Just keep in mind that too many floating plants will block lighting at the bottom of the tank if you also have rooted plants. If you go with watersprite, you can plant extras in the gravel as it multiplies.

Finally Done!

Finished!!
Here's pics.. now I need suggestions for plants, since I am going to be going to try to get some this weekend. PS The plants on the top are plastic that I only put in to help my platy fry out, and they will be leaving soon.. here's my pics... also, could I grow anything on my cave on the right?

Java Moss would be really cool on top of your cave.

The problem is Java moss falls off. I tried tying it onto my driftwood and it still came off!

You know those net bags like onions and potatoes come in? I cut a piece big enough to wrap what ever i want it to grow on. Not pretty for a while but it works. Give it about a month then gently peel the netting off. it really works

Cool! So a sort of mesh thing.. but wouldn't it either
1 JUst come apart once I take off the mesh
or
2 if it will stay in the ball, wouldn't it be easier to just get algae balls...

1) no the Moss will have time in that month to attach it self to the rock.
2) You've never been intrigued with how something grows until you try Java Moss
Believe it or not theres a rock under this moss just like the top of your cave.

K I'll try that! Would it have to go on a flat rock?

Also any suggestions for any other plants for my tank? I want something to go on my left side, since there is that huge empty thing that I wanna fill... maybe dwarf Hairgrass?

And by flat rock I mean, could it go on one of my slanted things?
