75g under reconstruction
I'm finally redoing my 75g. I recently lost two of my little betta girls ontop of being sick for a week so I thought it about time I did something I enjoy to improve my mood. What better than to finally fix up the tank?
I've removed plants for when I started to add some live plants and then took out most of what was left when I found I might have more killifish fry hiding away. I finally went though all the fake plants I have and decontrusted them into a pile of plant pieces ^^; I now have ones that should reach up to the top of the tank and others that should still give ground cover while providing plenty of open areas to swim. So basically its just add all the plants abck in ontop of the driftwood a few caves and oh yes, I'm switching to sand! Well, part way - I could only get my hands on a 50lb bag and figured it best to just do 3 parts sand 1 part gravel, I like the look so far and hopefully my cories will thank me for it.
Right now I'm currently waiting for things to settle before I add the wood back in and then more of the sand. And then get to the plants. And with any luck I'll finally get some decent pictures to come out.
Yellow Killifish x4 x2fry
Zebra Danio x5
Silver Tip Tetras x7
Guppies x4 females
Peppered Cory x3
Bandit/Panda Cory x2
Otocinclus x8
I could only ever find just seven so I assume my killifish got one but after getting everyone out I found the eighth little guy. I'm so excited since this means I didn't lose a single oto from the last batch I brought home (proir to that it was pretty much 50/50).
I was thinking about getting some more zebra danios since I lost one a few months back but as I type this I just found another killifish fry. The first one I found is about ready to be released into the tank, another reason for me waiting to redo the tank. Make sure there are plenty of hiding palces just incase the adult male doesn't take kindly to another male. Good thing to, this way I can place the one I just found in the breeder net and not worry about the older one having a snack (which he did last week to the second fry I found, poor guy was so small).
I hope to have some pictures by the time everything is done. Hopefully wont take too much longer but thankfully it is a warm day so the containers I have my fishies in are staying warm and I do have a filter hooked up.
EDIT: Make that two fry, almost didn't see this one just an inch away from my fingers.
