Hey, new to the forum and thought I would post some pics of my reef.
It's a 50gallon breeder size tank 19x18x36
I do just about everything wrong with this tank but it's been doing really well for me since I set it up. It started as a 20long back in Oct 06 and has moved up to a 29.....then to the 50 in March this year. I don't run a skimmer....use tap water...and the only filtration I have is 2 AC HOB refugiums. I don't dose with anything, just do regular 10gallon WCs twice monthly (IO salt).....and blow off the rock with filter pads in the HOBs in between the water changes. It's a pretty simple maintenance routine, but so far it's been working...I have no idea why....
I have a pair of perculas, coral beauty dwarf angel and a yellow watchman goby in the tank. For coral there's a variety of softies...clavularia, xenia, zoanthids, leathers, gorgonian, hammer and frogspawn, various mushrooms and some montipora and candy cane.
I'm really enjoying the hobby and have just setup a small 15 with some left over LR from the 50 upgrade. The rock has been sitting in a 10gallon I've had running where I put all the extra macro I get from the 50.
Pics of the 15....I need more rock, but it's a start.....you can see all the old coraline I "Didn't" scrape off...from the last time I had this tank up and running...
also, some pics of the purple firefish I have in there....
little MiniMe......
