My new aquarium
Just finished setting it up....Cloudiness should clear in a few days
I'm quite pleased with the setup, but i'm sure as time passes it will get tweaked *L*

Hi!
Nice! I especially love the Java fern. What are you going to keep in it?

Thank you
Khuli loaches, Striated Loaches (if i can manage to find any), Otos, Bristlenose cats, Livebearers (platys), my 1 gold gourami (currently in my 2ft tank)
If i cant manage to get some striated loaches, i may go with some yoyo's or dwarfs.....i'd like some cories in there to, but i'm not sure they will get along with the loaches and i've heard they tend to dislodge plants
note: The red rocks on the sand will not be staying, they are there purely to stop the sand being churned by the filter. That section will, i hope, eventually be a cave network with java moss growing over it.

Wow! nice job on the tank, love the way you have a open area and then a place for the fish to hide.

Very nice setup! Hope you got that drift wood cheap. If it's anything like here, it is ridiculously expensive.

Hi!
I have 6 Sterbai in my Planted-to-be tank (Still growing! It's only been set up since Xmas, and I haven't even finished planting - I need my Java moss!) and they don't do any damage. They're recommended for Planted tanks I heard. I'd do them instead of Striated loaches, Kuhlis will get on fine with them. Dwarf loaches cost at $20 apiece! Just warning you.
Oto's are a nice choice - but did you know to collect the Otos the poison their rivers to make them easier to catch? That's why they're so finicky and weak to begin with. It's why I stay away from Otos - I use Zebra Nerites and Dawrf plecos instead.
Oh, and with plecos, I find Clown and Flash plecos (L204) are great in that sort of tank if you just provide a little more veggies (Like you would for a BN. Those species are primarily wood-eating, and suck nutrients out of wood. They won't damage your lovely bogwood, though!)
Wow! 92gal. I think, for plecos you should get 1 Flash, 1 Clown, and 2 BN's. 8 Kuhlis, 8 corys, 8 platys and 5 Zebra Nerite snails. I didn't say oto's because of how they catch them - just poisoning the environment.

I cannot get striated loaches i've since found, i already have 2 yoyo loaches, so i think i'll just get 4 more of them to make up a shoal. Yes i seen the price of dwarfs ($14 each)
I have a number of platys (9-10), the gold gourami & 3 neons already that will be residing in there. Because of the loaches, snails may not be a good idea, so i'll stay with the otos for algae control I looked at the clown pleco, maybe i'll get one of those, but i really have a soft spot for bristlenoses, so they are a definate.
Khulis are a fun kinda fish, they tend to be quite active once settled, so they are a definate addition (the reason i added the sand section)
I've read of a few people who have had to remove the cories due to them uprooting their plants. I've had them before and had no trouble, but then the ones i had were still quite small, definately not full grown.

Hi!
Mine are small, and a smaller species. Please remember the inch per gallon rule, though. Kuhlis count as 2.5in - as they are long an thin and don't really poop much. I know lots about them - until mum listened to the LFS dude and bought gravel for my 47gal (Xmas prezzie!) I couldn't get them. (The LFS guy was convinced sand was 'difficult'. Does that present a problem for me? It's very easy...)

I bought a set of 2ft T5 lights, which are now in, and what a difference they make to the front of the tank...very pleased with them. Eventually i will get a 4ft set to replace the current light at the back. But i really want to get a cannister filter for it before that.
A few more weeks and i'll be ordering some Panda, Red tiger stripe & Bumblebee platys. They should set the tank off nicely. Then will come some more yoyo loaches to make up a school. Lastly will be some Oto cats & possible kuhli loaches
Newest pic, taken tonight
