| My African Cichlid Tank Here are the pics of my 40 Gallon African Cichlid tank. I hope that you enjoy the pics. I couldn't get pics of all of the fish cause some of them were hiding. I have 2 catfish in there as well. Let me know what you think |

| Thanks everyone! Just one question........my electric blue cichlid turned a muddy grey/brown color and only has a slight blue shimmer to it now. This happened right after I added the rest of my cichlids. I have been having a problem with nitrites, so I am guessing it is either the result of the nitrites or the stress the other fish are putting on him. Any suggestions? |

| Can you go to settings and open EDIT AQUARIUM INfo. tell us about this tank including results of your water tests, and we will be able to give you some idea of what is going on. |

| Kate, are you having nitrite or nitrate problems? The former would indicate that the tank has not completed the nitrogen cycle or is going through a mini cycle.
I also noticed, when looking at your Aquarium Info, your other tanks have Nitrates at 10; bringing them down to anywhere between 0 and 5 would be more beneficial to your tank occupants if possible.
With regards to your 40g setup, I think you have a very impressive setup. Is the 'snow white' a Labidochromis species?
In any case, well done |

| I have posts up for all of them right now but I do have to get a gallery set up. I was having nitrite problems, but last night when I tested the water it had finally stabilized! We'll see if my fishie gets his color back! |

| Hi Kate,
some fish turn dark when they are stressed out. Are you sure the fish is not getting picked on by others? ~ kate |

| Not that I can tell, but I'll keep an eye on him. The water quality may have been stressing him out since I was having so many nitrates problems. Thank goodness they finally went away! If the other fish are picking on him, would you suggest removing him or removing the fish that is picking on him? |

| it's probably easier to remove one fish instead of many...but it's up to you! |

| I actually found it at Petco! I usually don't find very many good decorations there, but this was a surprisingly good find |

In any case, well done | I can't find the scientific name for my snow white. The only name I can find is Snow White Zebra. If I can locate the scientific nam I'll let you know, but it is hard when you only have a common name to go by |
