Very nice - we have that same cave in a couple of our tanks. We stuck some Java Fern in one of the holes in each. Is that a quartz rock in the center?

Yes me and dad found that out in the woods on a camping trip. We took it to a shop and they cleaned it up and made it shiny. I also have amathist, tigers eye, and the red one in the back not sure what it is but it looks cool in there. I have a banana plant back home that i will be adding in a few weeks.

Cool, it looks great! We saw some rock at a LFS we went to today for the first time. The people at the fish club all raved about it so we wanted to take a look. Unfortunately not any quartz or gemstones.

a happy beta in a tank?! lol!
when i got my beta he was happy to be in his bowl from that cup he came from at the store!!!
(i hope your aware) never add a female and male together unless you wanna breed
never add male beta to any fish (you can add a female with others)
(also aware?) you do know you could have put your beta in a bowl right?
if you dont wanna wait for the cykulling *like me) get strong fish like guppys and tetras and stuff
thats all the beginner fish
and unless your a master at fish...NEVER EVER!!! add a angelfish if your water is not clean they are very delacet!
thats what i can do for you,if anyone could help me with my breeding guppys?

neon tetras and cardinals can be very sensitive, mostly due to over breading and well idk its all science., and petz, ill pm you about breeding you guppies its not very hard

You have a nice tank there. I've been going back and forth between a betta or a couple of ADFs, I see you have both, how is that working for you?

do u plan on putting a backround on ur tank by any chance?? i know theyre cheesy but i think they really add to the design of the tank.. some are really cute.. some look really fake tho.. but if u find a cute one its definately worth it!

Actually, bettas should never be put in bowls. They are tropical fish and need heated aquariums. The more space a betta has the happier they will be. Don't cram them into a little bowl

I really like the tank set up. Pretty rocks. You could add a solid blue or black background on if you want to. It will make the colors of your betta pop out so much more

I was thinking of a black background

And the Frog has only been in the tank today so i will have to let you know if he makes it through the night. I dont anticapate any problems though. They have been face to face and then both went the other way. So it looks good so far.

Same. Mind you, it depends on the Betta really. Some Bettas don't mind tankmates - others loath them!

To tell the truth this is my second betta. My first one was red also but i tryed to have him in with 2 corys. well after about 2 days he decided no more cories and ate all of their fins in a night. the next morning i found the corries dead and the betta with a bolted stomac dieing. he died in about 10 min when i woke up. I just got lucky with this one. yay
