Sorry, I missed the part explaining how your filter doesn't work great. I would probably wait since you seem to want a larger tank and try to find a good deal on a used one then. Just like susitna-flower said, "BIGGER is BETTER!! Even if it takes awhile, it will be worth it."

Tank sounds good. I would go look at it or ask for pictures of it before you argee to buy it though.
I don't about that filter though.

The "Rule of Thumb" for filters is 10x your aquarium size per hour. So for instance a 20Gal tank would need 200 gallons per hour circulation......just FYI.

This is where the REAL fun is!!! Let me tell you a little story, (also you could probably see this coming ).
Last year I really HAD to have more tanks. So I was making a trip north to see my daughter, 300 miles away in Fairbanks. They have a really nice LFS, and two military bases, which means lots of folks buy tanks, then have to move and get rid of them cheap....
So as I was driving up, I stopped and got their local paper - but didn't look in it till the evening when I was actually in Fairbanks.
I called about a 55 gal with EVERYTHING, that was going for $50.
TOO LATE, the lady said someone had just called 10 minutes before me.
They took it, and I was crying to the owner of the LFS about the good deal that got away. WELL, he had a tank in the back that had a very little chip out of the plastic rim. He sold it to me for $50, which wasn't SUCH a great deal, but good none the less, and I didn't have to go home empty.....
Keep looking, your great deal is out there.

Oh I wouldn't be too jealous. I actually checked Craigslist and theres a 90 "complete" setup with some saltwater stuff that was never used and "some scratches" for $250. Or, a 70 setup without scratches and closer for the same. None predrilled but $250 for 90 gallons could be worth it. Depends on the "scratches". Gonna keep my eye on it. Maybe if I can stop spending all my money, i can pick one of them up. Stand and all. I would still be jealous of the predrilled factor. I'd have to get it drilled.

That looks like an ad worth asking the seller the questions on and maybe see if he had pics of it and then it would depend on what he considered "reasonable".

Green- I just emailed him about the 70Gal setup asking for pictures and any flaws like leaking, chips and scratches.
CPV- That "rule of thumb" is why I need a new filter. The one I currently have, even if it wasn't broken is only rated at 118GPH, which was ok for 1 Pirahna in the 20Gal, but I wouldn't use it for more fish and possibly live plants.
Gozer- Maybe I'll just get it then to spit you. lol. If I got an HOB Filter and that tank to start. I would be sitting at 160ish spent. Or I can get a Canister filter for 90 for my other LFS (CFS 4 by Odyssea).
COBetta- Same as what I said to Green. I just emailed them asking for pictures and any other details like the filter type and heater.

What about this? It is just the tank, stand and hood/w lighting. 75Gal, Solid Pine stand and matching hood for $300.

Sorry about that. I think a corner tank would be cool if you have a good spot for it.

My jury is still out. I just picked up a used 46gal pentagon corner tank with stand, hood, lights, undergravel and HOB filter, powerhead, 40lbs of gravel and a box full of misc. supplies and decor for $60. I couldnt pass it up. Its not cycled yet and i dont have fish in it, but it does look nice in the corner of the living room....kind of a space saver, (it doesnt take up the whole wall)

YEY, people here do exist! lol jk
I have to post the link when I get home but it's a 54 gallon corner tank with stand hood and light. I think there there is a filter, heater and pump included. Still has 6days but currently at $50.
BTW, I filled up my 20Gal just because and turned the pump on. Water is "cycling" through a filterless pump. lol

My appologies. So many posts you know.
I like corner tanks for their space saving but the weird corner in the back takes away from the feeling of depth to the other side of the tank.
It's ok I won't hold it against you if you got that 75. It would be just as effective for me to go pick up the 90 gallon setup on craigslist for $250. That's about what I'd spend after shipping so I think that may be the route I take. Depends on if it is still available when I have the cash for it. lol Has a stand too so i'd save on building costs for my current plan. Thanks for the offer to help me out though.

Hey that sounds like a great deal. Kind of takes the fun out of picking your livestock but also makes things a lot easier. The description sounds really nice.

I don't have to get the fish with it. They said just to give them a day notice so they can take them back to the store. I figure, they are usually colorful fish, which my wife wants will work. And after going to our LFS's, they would probably end up our choice anyways.

The 20 gallon I bought came with 2 Africans which I just thought I could bring back to the store once i got it back to my house but I ended up liking them too much so I just kept them and they are my favorite fish I have right now.
