hey keano,
I'd go for a Rio 180... I bought one in March and its just a super aquarium i think... Classic design combined with class... Go for it

I have also just came home with another Hydor Ario 3 to help the 1st one, and also to have more oxygen in the tank

Also some soaked marsh root *will i need to boil myslef* and 3 bits of red sparkly rock *2hour boil?*

and some API Leaf Zone for the plants to grow better and look better too.

Thanks, hopefully the fish will like it

Also I have basically a choice of two tanks.

A Rio 180 or a Ambience 101 *http://www.aquatlantis.com/uk-frame-...id_produto=61&

Which one should I go for?
Reason I'm asking is because I've never seen or heard of the Ambience aquariums nor their filters that are called BioBox...

It has no nitrate removal sponge, only the blue, white and black sponge then these little balls at bottom of filter called "AquaClay"

I wish I could help you with those, but I'm not familiar with either brand.

Ok no worries.

Guess what I've got to do next week! Feed about 50 cichlids or more!!!

A man I know is going on holiday and all his tanks have cichlids in them. He's converted both of his garages into fish rooms. From what I could tell he has a rio 240 a vision 180 or 260, maybe a 8 or 10ft lond tank, then loads of fish store type tanks in the wood casing, if you get me? and some other nearly 3ft looking tanks stacking on top of eachother, and he has more empty tanks around the room lol!!!

He has adults, fry, sub adults, young, and also 2 of the females in the 240 tank may well be holding.

And I need to feed his other pets aswell!

I'm thinking about setting up a 2ft x 1ft x 1ft breeding tank for my rams, should I go through with it or not?

And some positive news!!!

I think my dad may let me have a Rio 240!!! Since it does fit

Went window shopping for fish tanks. Found no Rio 240's but found a Rio 300 for £286 complete set up, last one in the shop!!!!

Best deal or what?!

Only thing is my dad doesn't seem to be agreeing to it

Really annoys me too, considering the lowest I've found online is £425!

I'm getting the Rio300!!!
Paid for it all yesterday, going to collect it today

EDIT: Pictures

Suggestions for a external filter? As it's hard to reach the internal one at the moment.

Also hard easy is it to keep a external filter compared to a internal filter?

For the Rio300.

Plants:

http://www.thegreenmachineaquatics.com/ ... dID=239244

http://www.thegreenmachineaquatics.com/ ... dID=210352

http://www.thegreenmachineaquatics.com/ ... dID=210362

Are they all aquarium plants?

Wood Pieces:
http://www.thegreenmachineaquatics.com/ ... dID=248315

Does that wood float?

Also should I get sand or some plant substrate?

Well the only progress on the Rio300 is that I've got a 25kg bag of Dorset Pea Gravel and 4 pieces of wood, even though I need more bigger pieces.

Bad news for the 125, yet again the bn plecostamus died
The third one I've had and they all die?
Doesn't make sense.

pH 7.6
ammonia 0ppm
nitrite 0ppm
nitrate 40ppm

But a person at planetcatfish said they bred bn pleco's in water with higher nitrates then mine!
And surely if my nitrates was the problem surely my German Blue Rams would be the first to go?

I won't be moving the substrate over as it's light coloured and the 300 will be black sand

I'll move over the 3 bits of wood, plant pot, both hydor ario 3 air pumps and the plants and rock

Should hopefully have alot of bacteria that I need to boost things.

But still no luck with the new carpet turning up =/ Hopefully it will soon.

What else should I put in the tank though? As it will be very understocked.

So far going in from 125:
Pair of Rams
3 Three-Lined Corydoras
1 Black Peru Corydoras
2 Kuhli Loach
10-13 Guppies, which I will try and get rid of.

What I'd like:
Atleast another 10 Three-Lined Corydoras or another 7.
Maybe 4 more Black Peru Corydoras.
3 more Kuhli Loach.
Maybe some otto's?
Possibly try a pl*co.
And I may try get another pair of GBR's or a pair of golden rams.
*Any other suggestions are welcome*
