Metal fish's (soon to be tank)

Im still waiting around to get some to perfect my 29 gall community
I still need some help on wether the fish i want will co habiat together well.

1 red tailed shark
1 striped rapheal
2 pearl gouramis
4 white cloud minnows
3 neon tetras
1 albino bristle nose pleco

Is that an over stocked tank?
Plus i have a vision of natrual stone gravel tall fake plants a peice of driftwood with java fern growing on it and a plain black background and a pirate skull for decoration i'll post pictures when its done (first of january hopefully)

i think the raphael cat will get too big...not positive though

1 RTBS- 4"
2 Pearls- 8"
4 WCM- 8"
3 Neons- 6"
1 A BN- 5"

that setup alone will be slightly overstocked

at 6-7 in, a raph. is too big for you tank...and would have growth problems and other health issues in a small tank w/ all those fish

how about this
2 pearls, 1 A BN, and 7 WCM/Neons
although, i wouldnt reccommend keeping tetras/barbs with gouramis...especially pearls
maybe you could get 3 pearls, 1 A BN, and 1 RTBS?

I was told that a 29 gallon tank would be great for a striped rapheal

only thing I'd worry about on compatibility note is the neon tetras, they seem to get eaten by everything, otherwise looks like they'd get along, the shark will be territorial so as long as the fish let it have its space should be fine. A small cave would be perfect for her to take over

The RTS shares a medium smaller sized cave with the rapheal its cute

by a fish store employee?
most of the pple on FL have learned not to trust them...most of 'em just want to make a sale...ask them a tricky fish question that you know the answer too, if they answer correctly then you might be okay...but if they say a common pleco that gets to be 18+" will be fine in anything less than a 75 gal. then chances are they are trying to make the sale, or theyre stupid

No it was from an FL person, i have read on all profiles i can find for thestiped rapheal that the recommended tank size is a 25 or larger so I think your confused.

maybe i am, but a fish that size needs room to grow...at 6-7 inches it'll be a pretty tight fit...i also believe they like to be in groups (2-3 at least) and you definently dont have room for more than 2...but with 2 SR, i wouldnt even think about adding a RTBS as they get very territorial w/ other bottomfeeders
