New lights for the angelfish garden
well, I had to go and do it again...
I had a delivery today to a part of Tampa I haven't been to before, and sure enough I passed a little LFS on the way. I knew i shouldn't have, but I decided to stop in on the way back.
Why oh why do I do these things to myself?? As soon as I walked i I knew i was in trouble, because right in front was a big 100+ gallon tank with 2 discus as big as dinner plates! And they were active!!! Swimming and following me like my angels! I NEVER see discus move like that in stores! These were as active asd healthy as I've ever seen. Then I started looking around...
My next shock was when I realized that all the silk plants in the tanks weren't silk plants... in fact, I didn't see a fake plant in the place!!! That's when i started hyperventalating a bit. This place is amazing! I'm just a bit bummed my tank is already stocked with plants. Still, I found a beautiful cardinal Luwidgia and even better, a bunch of Alternanthera reineckii (or Red Temple plant). These are amazing, sort of greenish on the top, but deep scarlet on the bottoms. I'll post a pic tomorrow after the tank has cleared back up ( I just got done planting them).
Oh, and best yet, i bought a new light for the tank: a corallife 6700K 130watt compact floursecent (it actually has two 65watt bulbs). It's a very nicely built light, with duel switches and plugs so each bulb can be put on a seperate timer. Best yet are 4 little built in cooling fans! This will put the tank now at about 3.25 WPG.
