Coryd55's First Tank
Dino and CWC just left a while ago from bringing the tank over. Its not looking as high quality as some of y'alls but I have'nt gotten a chance to mess around with it and plan what I'm gonna do. The bristlenose male is checking out his cave. I was moving the cave back a little cause I thought it might make him feel safer and HE WAS IN IT and he swam away....boy did I feel stupid. The female is behind the heater again they were playing around the sponge filter for a while. She stays hidden most of the time. The MTS are all over the place. The cherry shrimp are scuttling around and chilling. Any suggestions please please let me know cause I can't think of how to set it up. I have some guppy grass, anubias, java fern(i think two types), java moss, and red root floating something.
I just put some pictures on.(They are the only ones of the tank) The one I tried to take of just the tank didn't work.

Whoa it looks like I'm missing an arm in both of those pictures lol. I might convince mom to go pick up some slate and driftwood(or get her to take me actually). I can't wait to get the angels, kuhlis, and cherry barbs in there.

I plan on adding cherry barbs next. I'm picking up some slate in a minute. If I find some driftwood I'll get that to. But then I have to soak it forever. Liveaquaria.com is out of Cherry Barbs right now. Dino and CWC said to get it from there but they don't have any so any suggestions as to where to get them online? I might get the Kuhlis first if I can't find those but I really wanted to add something that wood swim around not just sit in the cave like my pleco lol. =) The color on the bristlenose is alot better now he has really white spots. I don't know about my female though she is still behind the heater. She was over by the cave this mornign but about an hour after I woke up she went to the other side and chilling behind the heater. I think I saw some eggs on one of the plants(the plant on the rock) they are in a small cluster maybe 8-10 of them and they are white and sperical hanging off of a leaf. Maybe shrimps? I can't remember if the MTS are livebearer or not but I think they are so if thats the case then its definitely the shrimp or something that was already there. I am also going to plant the java fern( I think) today. Not sure where yet though. Let me knwo if you have any ideas.
Thanks

I want to go for a natural look btw. I just read COBetta's post(somehow I skipped it). I just want it to look like a lake/river/whatever bodie of water that looks natural. Right now its still not looking superb but its a work in progress.

If need be, I can pick you up some cherry barbs in Chattanooga and ship them to you.

The eggs are probably pond snail eggs that got carried over from our tanks. You would probably be better off smushing them with your fingers.
I think Dino said only 1 of the many pictures we have actually show your left arm... you could pass for a handicapped person in most of your pictures..

Just want to stop the rumor that we charged Cory an arm for the tank.

Ha. I am about to put the driftwood in. I will take some pics. I hope it doesn't leach out any brown. On the most recent soak the water was clear so......lets hope for the best.

Cory if you are having trouble finding rocks you like you can go to places that sell rocks to building contractors. The rocks are usually in round wire cages and you can pick out what you want for so much a pound.
