Right now I have an Undergravel filter with 4 Maxijet 1200s as well as a Rena Filstar XP4. I think this spring I'm going to remove the UGF. It came with the tank and I thought I'd give it a try when I had to maove the tank. I've had more algae blooms since I put it in there. The XP with additional powerheads is all I really need. The powerheads would be better just moving the water around than running the UGF. The Venturi would work on the powerheads that way so I could get a little air in there too. I have an air stone in the tank but my pump gave out. The tank is just too deep for most air pumps. The XP is loaded with biomedia and Purigen (a carbon replacement) as well as foam filter pads.

It looks smaller and smaller. I'm at a point where I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the beasts. All but the Oscar were impulse "I want a fish tank of big fish" buy. I'm gonna have to set up a pool in my house. "Yeah, we used to watch TV in here, Oh sorry they splash." lol A first hand experience of reading the label on the tank and running with it. Iridescent Shrak, I like sharks. Hey look they only get 6-8 inches. PERFECT That was about 3 years ago. The larger shark is about 10 inches now.

She grew amazingly fast. I'd venture to say she's less than a year old. Maybe 7-9 months. Don't remember exactly. Measuring in at about 9-10 inches. She slowed way down after about 6 months. Before then you could almost watch her grow. There would be notable growth over night. Especially after a good feast.
