Ah well. I got a really good deal, bought a 65gallon tank, with a light that stretches the whole way accross. Dolphin c500 canister filter, 2 large powerhead filters, 2 air pumps, 350w + 150w heater. An air stone, plus rocks, driftwood, air pumps etc for R600 (South Africa Rand = 5-6 US dollars)
Took me a while to clean all of it. bought the gravel at my local nursery and sieved it all out.
I started off in a small, 15 gallon tank with a baby albino tiger oscar. but i realised this tank wouldn't last long, so I invested in something bigger. When I got the 65 Gallon, i bought a regular tiger oscar to keep the other company.
Here are the pic. Will upload some better ones of the fish later, as well as some better tank shots, as I added a backdrop and better lighting.
The oscars have grown alot in 2 weeks, about half an inch! They always stick together, wherever they swim. Now that they have settled in, they really show a reaction to me coming close to the tank. I can't wait for them to get bigger.
Is the water level OK? I think it could do with another few cm of water. LEt me know! I've also added a backdrop to the tank, will update the picture soon

Oh I'm also considering changing the substrate to sand... What sand can I use, and is the gravel easier to maintian?
Here are the pics, comments appreciated
